Yellow belts and the costume drawer
Colour holds are cousins of print separation. A drifting gold is the fastest way to make a timed panel feel cheap.
Priya keeps swatches labelled by era. Classic blue-and-gold, 1990s browns, later cloth. When a sequence crosses a costume change — a mission to the mansion lawn, then a return in training gear — we either split the edition at the change or we decline the middle page.
A hold that eases across a figure will show any drift in the belt. On a static scan you might not notice. In motion it reads as a different garment. That is why colour holds are signed before Rowan builds the clock, not after.
If your favourite issue reprints with a recolour, bring both printings to the viewing. We will time from one and mention the other in the provenance note so a later buyer is not confused.
